Rebel Illka
Rebel Illka
After the success of the Husky, Rebel created a kayak to give smaller paddlers the look and feel of a Husky in a version targeted to the 60 – 65kg paddler (132-143lbs) or the paddler that likes a tighter fit.
Like the Husky, the Illka is a relatively low volume Greenland-style boat with hard chines a finely V-shaped bottom, moderate rocker, and a symmetrical hull; making it a playful and maneuverable kayak for the smaller paddler.
Rebel chose the name “Illka” instead of designating this boat a Husky “LV” because it is a kayak with the 'right volume' for the right person sitting in it. While the Illka has substantially less volume in the stern (and no day hatch behind the cockpit), there is only a moderate decrease in bow volume in comparison to the Husky. This allows weight capacity of the Illka to remain relatively high, helping with gear transport for those multi-day outings.
In Rebel's words: "Less could be more”.
