The RockSalt Greenland Weekend is an annual non-profit event, open to anyone who wants to learn more about Greenland kayaking and who wants to interact with a like-minded community of Greenland kayakers. It consists of a series of workshops held over three days, with knowledgeable mentors volunteering their time. We will be holding this event annually in early June each year, and you will be able to sign up here for the next event.
The first annual RockSalt rolling weekend was held June 5-7, 2026 at Lily Lake, Rockwood Park, Saint John, New Brunswick. Participants in the event learned new skills in Greenland-style strokes and rolling, with Pete Kuhn from Qajaq USA attending as a guest mentor. Each year, this base location will stay the same. Although we may add or change mentors, and we may add options to the itinerary, we will always have the same home base of Rockwood Park, Saint John, Canada.
Each year we will open up booking in autumn for the event that will run the following June. For each participant, there will be a participation fee that is separate from the fees for accommodation and food. This gives participants the flexibility to attend with or without arranged accommodation and meals, and allows each participant to select the type of experience that suits them best.
